Don't Stop Believing..

Sitting there alone among the crowd, she kept wondering what is it that she is holding on to, why does she even bother? she could leave the string and fly away...

Just a Small Town girl
Livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train
Goin' anywhere

She wanted someone to understand her, someone who would not begrudge her, someone with whom she could forget all her worries, someone who would accept her the way she is. Hopelesly romantic, she believed in chance meeting and hoped one day it would be her turn.

Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train
Goin' anywhere

She thought she was different from the rest, like a trapped bird in everest, she dreamed of stage, the adrenaline then coarsed her veins, she wanted someone badly, so badly that she kept flitting back and forth past, a mere glimpse of emotion that had cheered her up sometime back was a sweet memory for her now, the small things that contributed to the elation, the sweet nothings she wished to share, the never ending list of desires..she didn't knew where to start and where it would lead her wishing.

A singer in a smokey room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

Many had crossed her path, many faces known and unknown had affected her, she wanted to move past all that, she wanted to evolve , grow, but soul searching was far away since her mind was somewhere in its own world, the noise of silence was more loud than anything around her, the peace that darkness gave her was missing now, she herself wasn't sure what she wanted, but she had put on a mask that she has no need to search...that she was unaffected, tough, stone..nothing to break through or touch her, but she waited patiently for that glimmer of real understanding to break through her mask, her case..

Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching
In the night
Streetlights, people
Livin' just to find emotion
Hidin', somewhere in the night

Her miseries were her own, her happiness was show for the world, the efforts to keep the mask, the hope for special to know her door built her, helped her, broke her and also drained her. Responsibilties, missions, goals , expectations weighed heavier than ever taking all her efforts to live up to it, after all she was someone's daughter, sister, friend and employee...almost wishing that she were someone's life too, gambles taken in past loomed in front of her, bitter sweet memories shook her, but she knew she won't give up, maybe the next would be the one, without the risk what is the prize afterall!

Workin' hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice
Just one more time
Some will win
Some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

Gathering her randomness, her absurd thoughts, she felt agitated yet calm, this unknown sense that she was close to herself even if no one else ever came, she would hope, pray, wait for that moment when she would matter the most to one life, one soul; the fear of loss of dreams bogged on her, she was afterall not the only one waiting...

Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching
In the night
Streetlights, people
Livin' just to find emotion
Hidin', somewhere in the night

She would wait, she won't give up, the mask will stay, but the way would be open to the one who would understand her deep dark secrets, her craving for independence, her love for freedom. She would soar one day, she will take her flight, she will meet her special moment, her dream, her spotlight...with that she got up, the presence of crowd around her didn't affect her loneliness but it did soothe that she wasn't alone... she will live her dream one day...she will... with that she marched back home...

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Streetlights, people
Don't stop believin'
Hold on
Streetlights, people

( The song Don't stop believing from the movie Bedtime Stories was the inspiration)
